Robert Dunphy called to Burkina Faso

  While pastoring in the states Robert Dunphy writes an article in the local news paper called
            "Nuggets of Truth"

             One of the parishioners in the church has a son who is the secretary to the ambassador to Burkina Faso.

             This son receives a copy of the local newspaper in Burkina Faso with the article "Nuggets of Truth".

             After he is done reading the newspaper article, he throws it in the trash, where it is retrieved by
             a man from Burkina Faso who reads it and gives his heart to JESUS.

             In 1985 this man inquires of Robert Dunphy to come to Burkina Faso the teach him and his people about
             JESUS. At the time Bob is pastoring a church in the US.

Bobs first trip to Burkina Faso 1988 - Jesus Appears to him

Bob was scarred ....

        As time grew close to the time of the trip, Bob grew more and more scarred. He didn't know what it was like in Africa. He Didn't want to leave Sally (his wife) , because he thought he might not get back to her, and maybe not ever see her again. On the Thursday before he was scheduled to leave on Sunday, Bob and Sally were scheduled to go to Charlottesville,Va.. Bob went out to his chicken house, and literally cried before God. He told God he was scarred, and could not go. He was literally crying. He explained that he wasted all the money from all the churches who were supporting him. He came back into the house and was waiting for Sally. He was sitting on his big chair with an ottoman in front of it. Bob was feeling extremely low. When he looked up, there stood Jesus. Jesus started walking toward him. He walked over and sat down on the ottoman in front of Bob. Jesus reached his right arm out and laid it on Bobs left shoulder. This was the second time of HIS appearance, from 8 years ago to anoint him to heal and to come into the ministry. Both times Bob was frozen, he could not move or say anything. "When HE put HIS hand on my shoulder, it was like 10000 words of instruction went through me". All fear left Bob, and he knew that he would do whatever Jesus wanted him to do, and go wherever He wanted him to go.

      During his first days in Burkina Faso, Bob preached under this tree; and slept under this tree the
      first night. The following nights he slept in the village in the background.

The first concrete block Church built by Robert Dunphy Ministries.
This took the place of a grass hut. The blocks are made right at the site.
